How do I set timed or scheduled charging? How does the time setting work? Where do I set my charger to charge at a specific time? Can I set it to charge at night?
Read below how to set your charger to charge your car at night or at other times when the electricity is cheapest. It's good for the environment and also good for your personal economy!
If you often charge your electric car at night, it can be an advantage to schedule your charger. At night, it is mainly wind turbines that produce electricity for consumption in Denmark. You are therefore also doing the environment a favour by charging as cheaply as possible. Below you can see how to set your charger to charge your car in a specific period of time. ⏲️
- Tap the house icon on the bar at the bottom of the app.
- Switch on Scheduled charging.
- Select the time you want the charger to offer power to a connected vehicle.
The next time a charge session is started, the charger will receive a message from the server, that it should not offer the car power until it hits the time schedule set in the app. Note, that the scheduled charging must be set before a car is connected to the charger, otherwise the charger will not obey the settings from the app until the next time it is reconnected.
Each charge is saved in your Charge History in the app, so you can always see how much power you have used during the night. 📶
Please note, that if you have the Ask for authentication feature enabled in your app, you still need to start the charging session with your app or your charge key, so that the charging session is started and the box is notified to wait for the scheduled time you have set.
