My charge box is not working? I can't charge? The charger is not responding?
There can be several reasons why your car does not start charging on your charging station. Here you can read what you can do to solve the problem yourself.
If your car doesn't start charging on your home charger, you can check different settings, as there can be several reasons why charging doesn't start.
-
Timed charging / special settings in the car.
- You may have configured your car to only charge at a certain time, or to only charge when the battery percentage is below a certain limit (typically 80%). There can be many settings in different EV's that impacts charging. Check the charging settings in your car to make sure there are no active settings that prevent you from charging on the box.
- You (or someone else with access to the charging station via Spirii Go) may have set a time setting in the app that results in the station waiting for the allowed time to charge. Go to the charger settings in your Spirii Go app and make sure the Scheduled charging setting is switched off.
If you have changed the settings in the app or in the car, disconnect and reconnect the cable to make sure the charger has loaded the settings you just updated. Please wait 30 seconds before reconnecting the cable to make sure the box has loaded the changes from the server.
-
Awaiting authorization.
- Depending on the configuration, the charger may wait for authorization before it starts charging. This is indicated by the Ask for authentication feature being enabled in the charger settings in your Spirii Go app.
If this feature is enabled, you must scan your charge key on the charger or select the charger on the map in Spirii Go and press Start before the charger activates the charging session (see the article Start and stop charging if necessary).
- Extra info: If Ask for authentication is switched off, charging will start as soon as the cable is connected, unless an active scheduled charging is set.
NOTE! If you have a company car agreement, it is important that you do not switch this feature off, as you are required to use the charge key (or virtual charge key in the app) that you have been given.
-
Damaged charge cable.
When you connect the cable to the box, the LED display may light up red.
- The cable may be defective or not properly connected to either the car or the charging station. In this case, check the cable for dirt and debris at both ends. You can try pushing the cable into the charging station and car to get it to engage the contact pins - without pushing too hard, of course. If that doesn't work, it may be a good idea to check if you have a faulty charging cable.
- You can do this by testing the charger with a different cable or by testing your charge cable at a public charging station.
