My charging cable is stuck in the charger? I can't get my cable out of the box? The cable does not release?
Read below what to do if you find your charging cable stuck in a charging station.
In rare cases, a charging cable can get stuck in a charger. However, almost all of them have a safety mechanism that ensures that the cable is released as soon as it is felt, that the cable has been released from the car. However, here you can read what you can do if the accident happens, and your cable cannot be released from the charger.
-
Make sure you have removed the cable from the car, so that the cable is only connected to the charging station.
-
If it is a private charger, check in your app that the Lock cable to charger function is not enabled.
-
Push the cable as far INTO the charger as it will go (in rare cases, the charger will not release because the locking mechanism is in tension). Wait 15 seconds. Try unplugging the cable again. If that doesn't help, push the cable back in.
-
Put the cable back in the car and start charging. Wait 15 seconds or more -> stop charging again -> disconnect the cable from the car and check if the charger has released the cable.
-
Do you have access to the electrical panel? If yes, switch off the charger, leave it off for 10 seconds and switch it on again. Wait for the charger to start up and check if the cable is free.
