I can't communicate with my charger? My app says my charger is offline? I cannot start a charge session on my charger in my app?
Here you can read what you can do yourself with your home charger if it has gone offline.
It may happen that your charger goes offline, and there can be many explanations for this 🌐:
- Weak cellular network (4G-LTE signal): The charger may be located in areas with poor coverage, or placed in areas such as basements, garages, or near buildings with thick concrete walls that weaken the signal.
- Interference: Other electronic devices or metal structures nearby may disrupt the signal.
- Network congestion: If the local network is overloaded, the charger may have issues establishing or maintaining a connection, for example, when everyone comes home from work and network traffic increases.
An offline charger can result in:
- Not being able to control or communicate the charger via your Spirii Go app.
- Not being able to view the charging history of sessions conducted while the charger was offline (this data will automatically upload once it reconnects).
- Any scheduled charging settings not being followed by the charger.
If your charger is offline, you will be presented a notice in the bottom of the screen, as seen below:
This results in the box not responding to the settings you set in the app. It can also result in charging data not being transferred, so it can be seen under "Charging history" in the app. To solve the problem, follow the steps below:
-
Switch off the charging box on the electrical panel for 5 minutes and switch it on again. ⚡
This will cause the charger to restart the firmware and software. Often this manual restart of the box can bring it back online. When it reconnects to the network, it will submit all offline charging history. So any charges you may have had while the box was disconnected from the network, can be seen in the charge history again.
-
If this does not solve the problem, or if you find that the box often loses connection to the network, even when you restart it, it may be necessary to connect the box to your WIFI at home. Extra info: The charger requires a 2.4 GHz connection, which all routers offer. If the charger can't catch your WIFI at home, try moving the router closer to it. Alternatively, you can purchase a repeater/extender that can extend your WIFI connection to the charger. This ensures that your charger is connected to the network and can communicate with our software. These are quite inexpensive to buy from an electronics retailer. 📡
