Why am I losing my refund of the electricity fee / tax? What does the lower electricity tax mean for my agreement? Why should I have a service agreement if I can’t get a refund?
The government has announced that the electricity tax will be reduced in 2026 and 2027. This means that the price of electricity will go down – and that’s great news for you as an EV owner.
We know that many of you have a service agreement, where we handle the refund of the electricity tax for the power used to charge your car at home. When the electricity tax is lowered, however, the way this arrangement works will change.
You won’t lose money! 💰
You will automatically pay less in electricity tax directly on your energy bill. That means there will no longer be any electricity tax for us to refund.
In short: you’ll still get the same benefit – just in a slightly different way. Instead of getting the money back through us, you won’t have to pay it in the first place.
Of course, we’ll keep a close eye on how these changes are implemented, and we’ll make sure to update you clearly on what it means for your service agreement in the future. Our top priority is that being our customer should always be easy, safe, and transparent.
Please also note that the electricity tax refund is just one of the many benefits included in your service agreement. You can read more here about what you actually get with your service agreement: What do I get with a service agreement through Spirii?
