What does the new electricity fee refund practice mean? Will I get a refund of the electricity fee? How much will I get refunded? What is the electricity fee refund rate? How much will I receive?
Here you can read more specifically what the new electricity fee refund practice means and what the refund rate is.
From July 1st, you will receive less in electricity fee refund than you actually pay. You will still pay VAT on the electricity fee, but you will only receive a refund excluding VAT.
Unfortunately, this is due to the new VAT rules applicable from July 1st 2023, which means that charging operators can no longer collect and pay out the VAT on the electricity fee. You can read more about this here: New practices for obtaining and paying out reimbursements
What is the new rate as of the 1st of January 2024? 💰
The refund rate is *75,7 cent excl. VAT per kWh.
Here is a calculation example:
- You use 115 kWh to charge your electric car at home - equivalent to approx. 690km driven per month.
- You pay DKK 79 per month for your Service Agreement to Spirii.
- You receive 75,7 øre excl. VAT per kWh.
- 115 kW x 75,7 øre = DKK 87,055 refunded per month.
* 0.4 cent of the electricity fee (excl. VAT) is the EU minimum tax, which you are not entitled to receive in your refund. Therefore, you may read in some places that the rate is 76,1 øre excl. VAT, but this is including the EU minimum rate.
